I have a GE Profile Fridge PDS22SBPARSS. I have a defrost problem. Heater and thermodisk are OK. (I can manually power the heating element to defrost.) Already replaced the mother board 3 months ago. (Also had a condenser fan problem that fixed along with fan replacement) but I have had the cold freezer warm fridge problem for some time too. Worked fine until humidity level of spring. Evaporator freezes over, ice blocks evap fan into fridge. Manually defrosting temporarily solves problem. Question: Can the freezer thermistor be bad for the defrosting cycle but still read accurate temps on the display of the fridge? Or are there separate sensors for each? Evap fan runs full speed when failing to cool fridge. Stops when open freezer door too long and runs at normal speed after manual defrost cycle.

Hello, There is a second thermistor in the freezer which is located on top of the evaporator coils. This thermistor controls the defrost cycle and very likely caused this problem. - The thermistor Part number: WR55X10025
