I have q whirlpool washer model 110.28812790 My wife noticed water on floor small puddle(1/2 cup?) I could not duplicte.I had some time, so I pulled unit out and noticed drain pump was/had been leaking replaced pump/drain and coupler reassembled started with cover off and smelled motor getting hot(did noticed before replacing drain/pump/coupler) replaced motor(Found one used free) now everything works until it goes into spin/rinse, drain pumps out etc when I raise and lower lid it will start to spin during cycle I'm at a loss! If anybody can help would be very greatful Thanks

The washer has a neutral drain transmission. After agitation cycle ends, it should drain without spinning. After draining, the motor should pause for a few seconds (releases neutral drain) and then start again draining and spinning. If the motor doesn't pause after drain, the timer is defective. By opening and closing the lid, you are pausing the motor.

Eric Thanks for the info! I tried to find info on at what point should it pause how many seconds etc (timer chart) into drain cycle no luck but it is not pausing so i guess i will order timer! thanks again
