I'm having an issue with our Maytag MAV6357AWW washing fine, but not spinning fast enough to drain water. I checked the belt and it's extremely loose. Not sure how it gets tight due to the fact that I can just move the motor back and forth with ease. Is there a way to tighten the motor down to create more tension in the belt? It seems to slide back and forth effortlessly.

The belt is loose because the motor motion serves as a clutch, so that is not the problem.

On these models if there is a spin problem the thrust bearing

Part number: AP4009132
Part number: AP4009132

is the first thing to change out. Directions are included.

Thanks sidfink! I'll see what I can do. Do you know how difficult changing out that thrust bearing is?
