We took cloth out of the dryer and the dryer felt extremely hot. We put the next load in and the dryer would not start again, but you can hear the timer going. What could be the problem?

coud be thermal fuse /white plastic piece about 1.1/2 inches long with two wires goingto it,at back on right side towards bottom/ unplug dryer +remove wires +join together temporarily .turn on dryer ,if it comes on replace fuse, usually that is only problem ,usually! part #ap3132867
