I have tried a couple postings and so far no responses. I could really use any help you can provide.

I have a Whirlpool washer LSC5000PQ2 that stops at the end of the wash cycle (previously I thought it was at the end of the rinse cycle). The tub empties, but does not go into the rinse mode. If I turn push the knob in and pull it back out then it restarts.

My wife also seems to think that is is not getting as much water out during the final spin which is making the dryer run much longer to get the clothes dry.

I am thinking it is either a bad timer or level switch. I would appreicate any thoughts or ways to narrow down the cause. I am hoping to have this unit last a few years more. I just recently replaced the pump (which was leaking), and don't relish having to throw another $100+ for a timer if I don't need to.

Thanks

If it fills and agitates ok, then the water level switch is fine. Problem appears to be in the timer.

Does the level switch sense the lower level to indicate it is ready to fill at the start of the rinse cycle or have a higher speed spin at the end?

It is possible that there is some gunk in the air dome or air hose located on the right rear quadrant of the outer tub interfering with the switch operation but this is unlikely the problem. The switch is either in the full position or empty position. This switch has nothing to do with the spin cycle as the switch is bypassed by the pressure switch bypass contacts in the timer during drain/spin mode.
