I replaced the bake element on my kitchenaid range but it still doesn't heat. Do I need to replace a fuse also? If so, can I get a part number and instructions for replacing it? I ordered the bake element from AppliancePartsPros on 5/6/12. My order number is 2561897.

Hi.

Did you check the bake element for continuity before replacing it? Does the outer broil element comes on when oven is set for bake? Does the broil works at all?

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.

everything works but the bake element. There was a hole in the old element so I did not check for continuity.

Hi.

This applies only if the outer broil element gets hot when you set the oven for Bake.
If you feel comfortable to perform the "life" test and you own a multimeter open the control panel( with power off), locate DLB, P4, P11 contacts at the control board.
Turn the power on, set the oven for BAKE and check for 240VAC between DLB and P4.
If there is 240v go to DLB and P11.If there 240V - check the wires to the element and the element itself.
If you are not getting 240V DLB - P11 the control board is bad .
Now is really not good news - the control board is no longer available.
You may check the net for rebuilding options.
