Hi, my washer was running through the spin cycle and it began making a loud awful clunking noise which abruptly ended and when I went in to switch the clothes I found them sopping wet. I checked and it will not agitate or spin. Is this just a belt replacement, or something worse? help please!

Hi Maclean
It is either a belt, motor or transmission.
Take off the front and you can tell if the belt is broken. If not run the machine with the front off. If the motor is turning, it is likely the transmission, which has tended to be a problem on Frigidaire top loaders.
Let us know what you find out.
