my washer isn't agitating nor is it spining.....what could this problem be and is it worth the fix?

Move it out from the wall far enough to tip it back. Tip it back far enough that it will balance there and not tend to fall forward. Get down on the floor and remove the belt, then try to manually spin the pump pulley and the transmission pulley (in both directions). If you can't move one or the other, that is the component that needs to be replaced. If they both freely rotate, select a spin cycle and start it to see if the motor will run without the belt. If it won't run, the problem is in the motor circuit.

did what you said ...now its agitating and spining right now as i'm running it thru a cycle....? for you when that happened the water drained out so the pump was working and im presuming that the motor was working.... what could have caused that ? thanks again for info!!

It sounds like you may have had an obstruction in the pump thqt was dislodged, or maybe an intermittent problem with the lid switch.
