I have an undercounter Sears dishwasher. I was loading the dishwasher and knocked over a jar of small nails that were on my cabinet. I cleaned up all of the nails that I saw, but the next time I ran my dishwasher it made a loud noise. When you hit the cancel button, the dishwasher drains and the noise stops, but each time I hit the start button and try to reuse it, it makes the same noise. My husband has taken the insides apart to try to find any nails. He was able to remove everything but the protector inlet, and he cannot get it off, so we can see if any nails have gone into the motor. Do you have any suggestions?

You probably have the newer energy saver dishwasher. Pull all the torq screws out, remove the filter housing and sponge all the water out. Remove the torq screw on the left of the semi-circular pump housing and pry the housing off. You will find the nails underneath.
