None of the other "knob removal" threads seem to cover my washer.

Whirlpool LTE5243DQ1 is a stacked washer and dryer. As far as I can tell, the control panel cannot be removed without first removing the 4 knobs, so there is no access to the back of the timer yet. 3 knobs just pull off without problem. The knob for the washer timer won't pull off. I tried rotating it both directions, both pushed in and pulled out, it won't come off. I pushed the dial in with the knob pulled out, but don't see any tabs or catches I can get to.

Any idea how to get this knob off so I can get inside the control panel?

Thank you,
Matt

There is a tab on the back of the washer timer that has to be pulled out for the knob to be released.

OK, in that case I guess I need a hint how to get to the back of the timer.
I don't see any way to get into the control panel or reach the timer until after I remove the knob.
Thanks,
Matt

Check that the outer knob is pushed in (what you do when you want to change the cycle by rotating it clockwise) then unscrew it by rotating it anti clockwise. When removed the inner knob slips off.
