Have an Admiral Freezer- given to me so don't know the age. It freezes really well but it comes on approx. every 15 minutes. Could this be a faulty thermostat. Also most freezers seem to be very quiet, this one you can hear when its running. When the motor stops there is a girgling sound. Could this mean the freezer is on its last legs. Would appreciate any advise you can supply. Thanking you in advance.

If the freezer is in a warm /hot area, you can expect it to cycle often. Bigger question is: what the temp inside? If you are at zero degrees and the thermostat is cycling off and on, hooray!! that is what it is supposed to do. Gurgling is just refrigerant migrating inside the system. Again normal. Check that temperature first. Dont sweat it if you are near zero degrees F

Thank You, Thank You. Checked temp in freezer. It registered a little below O. It is in a small room which is fairly warm so that answered the other question. Thanks for the info.
