The dryer makes a metal grinding sound when you turn it on. Is it a easy repair like a belt. Or is it a repair person job?

I think you can make the repair yourself if you a little mechanical experience. It is somewhat of a chore to tear down this machine, but nothing that cannot be done with time and patience. Your biggest problem will be isolating the noise, so first release the belt and try to isolate it. As you take the machine apart keep turning the drum by hand (you have unplugged it haven't you!!) until you find it. You will need a service manual.
