Where do I look on the range to find and remove the oven sensor. I was getting the code F-1, now I am getting the code F-3. These code came on after cleaning the oven with the self cleaning feature.

The "F1" error code means there is a problem with the control board or the touch pad while the "F3" error code means the control board senses an open oven sensor. In such situation I would replace the control board first. You can check the oven sensor (#5 on the diagram) first. The oven sensor resistance suppose to be about 100 Ohms at the room temperature. You can find all instructions in the Service manual. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for MAYTAG MER5550AAW | AppliancePartsPros.comGene.
