I have a leak coming from the bottom center of the tub onto the clutch and gearcase assemblies. I think it needs a centerpost gasket but havent taken it apart yet and wonder if it could also be the agitator shaft seals. I need to order parts and would like to get everything in one shot so I don't want to loose the use of the washer.

The center post gasket should be all that you need, but check out the exploded views for yourself.

Hello Sid. I went ahead and removed the the inner tub/basket so I could take a closer look at the problem. I filled the remaining outer tub up with water to the top of the outer shaft of the tub support assembly that the gearcase shaft fits into. No leaks were present so it appears the leak is coming from the shaft seals for the gearcase shaft that work the agitator. The majority of our wash is done using a extra large setting so it would fill above the tub for the tub suppot assembly.

Now I need to see about replacing the inner shaft seals and bearings. Has anyone done this or have a manual in pdf form to post for the replacement of these parts. I under stand the puller to do the job is no longer available and I may have to be creative to remove and install the parts.

Also for those of you that dont have a spanner wrench the for the nut that holds the inner tub, I was able to take a large jaw locking plier clamped to the nut and tap it loose with a hammer. It did not damage the nut or threads in any way.

Looking forward to your replies.

I can't say I have ever had that problem, it is very unusual. Usually I replace the brake unit as a single part and the service manual on this unit does not address this repair.
