The dryer wouldn't start, I removed the wires from the back of the start button and brushed them together. The dryer ran for that short second. Now there is no power to those wires. Could I have blown a fuse or selinoid? if so how do I proceed to repair

According to the wiring diagram for your dryer, the push to start switch is a momentarily switch wired in the motor winding. When you brushed start switch wires together it caused damage to the motor. - The part number for the motor AP3094245 - Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dryer Model LG5721XSW0Gene.
