Have a GE WPRE6100G0WT. Will not agitate or spin.

Looked through many of the other threads, and trouble shot the machine.

The fuse was blown, so I went and got another one. Installed and plugged the machine in and I actually heard it pop. So I assume the motor is bad. I also ohmed out the shifter, and it appears to be open. :(

The parts place I bought the fuse from has the motor, but the guy told me if the motor was bad I should just buy a new machine. And as I said, I think the shifter is also bad, unless my ohm meter is bad.

My question is, if I have to get a new motor and shifter, its going on $400. Would you fix this machine or buy a new one?

Well, nobody answered, but I replaced the motor, mode shifter and belt. Also was incredible dirty in tub and bell. Cleaned everything and reassembled. Runs like a new washer. :D

One interesting thing is the new motor apparently does not need a fuse - came with a little kit of a solid wire to replace fuse link, and a tag to attach that says Fuse Removed.
