my cabrio does like many i have read about here. start it. it begins to fill then stops with a f1 error code. i see this is typically a control board. i call whirlpool they tell me that my model and serial combination is not on the recall and not known to have have a control board issue. they steer me to a water flow problem. is this possible? serial # cu1071342 model wtw6600sw2

With this model anything can happen. There do seem to be a lot of posts here about control board problems. The error code is for a control board problem. Don't know why Whirlpool would say check the water.
I would replace the control unit, but who knows, I mean Whirlpool apparently doesn't even trust their own diagnostics.
