My wonderful OLD dishwasher is working really well, but when the door fell open last night, it seems like some type of cable broke or something. The door just weighs a ton now and doesn't close unless you pick it up carefully and close the lock!
I never heard of this happening, can you help?

Remove the kick plate you will probably see that a spring has broken or come off.
Some units use a cable and a spring.
