only way to keep freeer working is to have an exteranl fan blowing directly on the compresor. The fan in under the unit is spinning and forcing air throughout the bottom like it should to cool the coils and compressor.

This morning the freezer read 40 degrees external fan still blowing on it.

I turned unit off in the refrig side and back on nothing happened. The compressor was not on and was room temp to touch. I unplugged the unit and plugged it back in and the compressor came on 3 hours latter eveythong fine freezer registering 0 degres making ice. Since the plugging it in started it I thought it was the compacitor. I took off the compacitor and had Johnstone check it out and they said it was not broken and worked fine.

I put everything back together and it is currently working with the external fan blowing on the compressor. If I remove the extenal fan and but the back panel on the unit it will not get cold enough to freeze ice as fast as we need it and the bottom half of the freezer stuff is partly thawed not totally frozen.

Help is it the compacitor ?? the start relay ??? overload??? possible the built in fan although it is working??

HELP!!!

If the compressor was overheating, I would replace the condensing fan motor, probably slow running.
