My 6 year old whirlpool dryer will not start when a cycle is selected and I press the start button. I only hear a humming noise. This just happened suddenly without any warning.

I've checked the power cord, no problems with circuit breaker. I'm hoping this is an easy fix before I make a call for for the repairman. :confused:
