I have a whirlpool drier and the timer was not advancing to shut off dryer but it was drying clothes.Now it wont dry at all timer problem heating element problem or both? any ideas

If it's less than a year old as stated call a Whirlpool tech for service so the warranty isn't voided by you working on it.
