My dryer stopped heating yesterday. I followed the directions listed in the forums for checking out what may be the problem. The thermal fuse should allow current through it if it is good, correct? I placed the ohm meter on it and it did not show anything which means the circut is broken and the fuse is bad and requires replacement, correct? The ignitor does not glow either, would a blown thermal fuse cause that? I checked the valve coils and all show resistance close to the tollerances. I checked the Thermal cut-off and it did show on the ohm meter. The ignitor had 68 ohms of resistance. I have not checked the flame sensor yet.

Sir, you are correct on your assupmtion of the thermal fuse. When you check the fuse and the thermostats be sure to pull a wire off of one side of them, otherwise you will get a reading with the ohm meter even if the t-stat is bad. If the thermal fuse is blown you need to replace it. If this is a gas dryer you are speaking of, since you mentioned an ignitor, it will cause the entire heating system not to light. Replace the thermal fuse and t-stat and you should be up and running in no time.
