Maytag dryer Model LDE7600ACl runs and heats OK but makes loud noise like a small jackhammer. Removed cover and sound *seems* to be more on LH side.

Randy,

There are several things to check,

Remove the front tumbler support and check for something in the blower wheel, also check for a loose rounded out blower hub(those 2 are the most likely, based on your description).

Remove the belt and drum, check for a loose motor pulley,
and check the rear rollers for missing rubber on the surface that contacts the drum(least likeliest).
