How do you change the timer? Is it something my husband can do as he is handy?
Thanks!

There is a lot involved to change the timer, but a handy guy should be able to do it .

First thing is to shut the power off or unplug the line cord to the machine.

Remove the lower access panel of the dryer, (2 screws,1 screw on each corner of top of panel.

Remove the 4 screws(2 on each side of the control panel, coverred by the lower access panel).

Pull down and out on the bottom of the control console and un hook from the cabinet panel.

Now for the hard part.

On the back of the washer timer, where the timer shaft opening is located you will need to use a small, thin, screw driver or needle nose pliers, inside that "D" shaft opening you will see a retainer clip, you need to pry that clip out with the screwdriver or pull out with the needle nose pliers, and pull out on the timer knob, to remove the knob, then the skirt just slips off the remaining shaft housing.

You'll find a single screw beside the timer shaft housing, remove that screw and lift up on the locking tab on the backside of the timer/control console and slide the timer to the right to release the remaining tabs.

Remove the harness from the original timer, install it on the new timer and reverse procedure to install timer, control console, and panel.
re establish power to the unit and test.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)
