My side by side Jennair fridge & freezer temp sometimes normal & has periods of warm cycles (very warm). It is not due to excessive use. It makes no clicking sound (relay switch). I have tried defrosting w/o success. The backside is relatively clean. The compressor is hot to the touch. Is there a temperature gauge that may be faulty?

Here are your parts, includes a wiring diagram. Replacement parts for JCD2389GE models | AppliancePartsPros.comIs there a temperature gauge that may be faulty? Yes the temperature control thermostat (Item 3 in Section 2) It is not uncommon for these to ge intermittent. If the next time it happens you can get the compressor to come on by just fiddling with the temperature control then odds are this is the culprit. Also if the condenser and evaporator fans are off when this occurs it could be that the unit is hanging up in the defrost mode. Or That the defrost heater is not being turned off by the defrost thermostst once all the ice has been removed from the evaporator coils and this extra heat is causing your temperature rise. The above assumes that both the freezer and the fresh food sides are effected. |
