Our washer stopped in the middle of a cycle. Tub is full of water. When setting the timer any where in the cycle, the washer makes some grinding type noises, and then the overload protection turns the thing off. The tub seems to spin freely by hand. Pump, agitator, and spin will not work.

quite likely you have a pump that is frozen. relizing your tub is half full you might want to use a pail or wet dry shop vac to empty as much water out of it as you can. then tilt it back and see if the pump is free. try not to run it much or you will burn the motor out. part # for the pump if it is the pump is AP3447809. good luck and post your results here
