I have a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator, the ice maker is working fine but the water dispenser has stopped working. The lever feels a little different when it is pressed, what do you think may be the problem?

Yes, the ice despenser works and has been refilling the ice tray with water.

Paul,
I'm afraid we are talking about different parts. The ice dispenser is where the ice cubes coming through the door and the device making the ice cubes is the ice maker. My question is: do the ice cubes coming through the door when you push the ice cubes release lever?
Gene.
