Just finished drying a load of clothes, started another, closed door and turned start switch and it just buzzed! Normally all I would do is turn (knob is like it has a spring on it)let it go and the knob is back in position, dryer starts! This is a front load, electric hotpoint, 3 cycle, heavy duty dryer. Please help!:o

Often the buzz is the motor trying to start.
This may take 2 people. Open the door and try turning the drum by hand, should turn fairly easily. If OK Hold the door switch closed. Try to start the unit. When it buzzes turn the drum in the correct direction by hand Watch your knuckles in case it starts up If it starts then odds are high that you need a new motor. |
