I have a GE gas dryer that if I press the start button the dryer starts. If I release the button the dryer stops, however if I continue to hold the button for a minute or so the dryer continues to run on its own when I release the button . The dryer at this point seems to be normally operating, it gets heat and is turning.

I have the same problem, electric dryer.
