I have a dryer that runs but doesn't heat. I checked the guide included inside the dryer. The high limit thermostat, thermal fuse, and heating element all test out good with a meter. The next step was to measure resistance across P3 and P6 of connector P14. The measured resistance was 18.6 k-ohms. The guide says if 5 to 15 k-ohms replace control module. If open replace the dryer thermal fuse. The trouble shooting portion stops there. Is the resistance too high and it's looking like an open to the control module? What next?

Here are your parts Parts for Maytag MEDE500VW1 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet I do not think that the thermistor is out too much as the board would give you a F-22 error. Take a look at page 16 of the tech sheet. You did not say but have you checked the power. Most of the unit will run off of half the line but the heating element requires the full 240 volts. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. Check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Do this with the heater off and on. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! |
