My GE #WCSR4170G0WW will not spin or agitate but it will fill and drain. The code light is off. The door switch works. There is no continuity between the neutral terminal of the power cord and the white/red wire of the motor plug. The repair guide says that means the fuse is blown but I have a post 2010 model with no fuse in the wiring harness. Where should I look next for the fuse or...

Thanks

This is an 06 model and according to the wiring diagram it does have the fuse in the wiring harness. What is the serial number of the washer?

That model came out in 06 and yours was manufactured in June of 07. It should have the fuse unless the motor has been replaced. New type motors require the removal of the fuse which gets replaced with a jumper wire. You will need to trace the wht/red wire to find the fuse or where the fault (open) is located. The fuse is a small black cylinder that looks more like a diode than any traditional fuse you may be thinking of. The fuse is in the wiring harness that goes up from the motor on the right side. Fuse is normally enclosed within a length of heatshrink tubing.

I found the fuse and seeing the size i understand how i missed it. I will purchase the part and replace but i'm guessing that it blew for a reason - like maybe the motor is pulling to many amps. Is there a safe way to test the motor?

No, there's no way to test the motor. It is a 3 phase PWM DC motor driven by the inverter board above it. The washer's timer simply tells the inverter which mode (agitate or spin) and speed (hi or low) to operate in. Just make sure that the pulleys and belt rotate freely. If it's bound up for some reason, that would overload the motor.

I replaced the fuse and have error codes 4 mode shifter, 6 motor won't spin a 9 brake, depending where I start the cycle. Your recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Time for a new washer. You need a new motor/inverter and mode shifter. Very expensive repair.
