I ordered a start device for my Amana refrigerator. The website shows whirlpool part number w10613606( two parts with run cap) as a replacement. My original start device is nothing like what was sent. originaly I had two Klixon parts; 4tm (419pfbyy) and Klixon part (8ea403) can the new parts be used or was I sent the wrong part? How would I wire this up as connectors are different? Thanks

If the old start device was a black ptc as shown on this site, did you remember how it was wired?

The top overload had a wire on each side. the bottom start device had 2 wires on one terminal and only one on the other. I am starting to think I have a coolant leak as the compressor is only pulling 7 amps.

If you want to use the start device delivered, just get the right spade terminals and wire the two fridg power wires in the socket provided(polarity insensitive) and plug in the run capacitor.

The compressor. assuming it's vibrating, should be pulling .7 to 1.3 amps, not 7 amps.

Sorry, it was 0.7 If i use new part i will have wires left over. Not sure how to wire it up. After messing with it yesterday it partially froze some ice cubes,( with old parts re-installed)first time it had done that in a few days. Compressor was warm and vibrating. Any ideals. I cant figure out how to attach pictures or I would.

If the compressor is vibrating, but you only have partial frost on the evaporator coils, you have a refrigerant leak/ damaged compressor.
