I bought a replacement start device from appliance pros part number
AP3962962. It is different from the one I took out. The one i took out was white and had three connections orange top left, White top right, and blue bottom connection.
The new start device is black and has four connections. Top connection has a n next to it the one below it has a L next to it, and the two on the bottom are a different type of connection all together.
I image that the replacement part is used in many different brands.

Can anyone help me with the wiring.
I have an orange wire a white wire and a blue wire.
Thanks

I assume your fridg has a run capacitor. The close together spade terminals get the fridg power connector. If the power connector will not fit in the start device hole, you will need to pull the two wires from plug and install mating spade teminals to fit the start device terminals. Plug the device in the compressor pins and plug in the run capacitor into the device.
Run refigerator and check current if you have an amprobe.

Let me see if i understand.
The orange and white wires from the run capacitor go to the terminals marked L and n and the blue wire needs to fitted with a spade connector and pluged into one of the bottom connections.
thanks

Your new start device has spade terminals for the run capacitor, you just plug it in. The original plug from the fridg that will not fit into the new start device must be taken apart and mating spade terminals attached, then plug those wires into the two side by side terminals in the start device. These terminals are like 1/4 inch apart.

the blue wire needs to be split into two and spade connections attached then plugged into the bottom connections

You must wire the run capacitor across the run and start pins. With your new device, the only way you can do this is to stick the capacitor in the slots provided.

white wire comes from one side of capacitor
blue wire comes from molex connector
orange wires (two in one connector) come from other side of capacitor and molex connector.
I have the white and orange connectors on top side by side spade connections and blue wire in one of the bottom different type connection.
compressor starts than stops 5 secs later will repeat process every three mins.

Ignore the run capacitor for now. Isolate the refrigerator power wires, turn fridg on and verify 115 to the wires. If so, these wires go in the 1/4 inch spaced spade terminals. If it still fails when you plug it in, you have a bad compressor.

Hooked up power wires to to spade terminals refrigerator turns on compressor turns on. Compressor kicks off after 5 sec.
the compressor sounds good and does not get hot.
could the run capacitor be bad?
I tried with the run capacitor plugged in and without same result either way
