Okay, so if you push that little plunger on the switch down, does the black wire show power at the control then?

You don't see a black wire going from the door switch to the control? The schematic shows the line voltage being switched at the door and then leading from the switch to the control on a black wire.

I touched the black wire of my tester to the black wire side and the red to the white side. The tester came on.

Okay, now follow that black wire to the control, push the little plunger on the door switch with a screwdriver and see if that black wire at the control then has voltage.

Are you testing the black wire at the control that is at the top of the door, the one that the black wire from the door switch leads to?

I'm testing one of the 2 wires that go to the top of the door latch. The other one of those wires goes to the bottom of the washer the other two come out of the bottom of the latch and go to a connector on the right side of control.

Okay, so we need to determine if that power is getting out of the switch to the control. Can you press the plunger on the switch and measure for power at the control?
