Two months ago the touch button for normal wash became hard to press. I switched to glassware button. Two days ago all buttons had to be pushed very hard. Now nothing lights at all.
Any possible fixes other than replacement and how difficult replacing the panel? Dishwasher is only 6yo and works great otherwise.

If you have verified power to the dishwasher, the issue likely lies with the touch pad assembly. Turn the power off to the machine. Use a hair dryer to heat the buttons until very warm while rubbing very firmly over them. Does it restore any of the buttons?

Hairdryer unsuccessful. No buttons worked. Checked breaker earlier.

Do you have a meter to test with?

Can you open the control panel and test for power to the control? There is a way you can test the keypad but it is not easy if you are not proficient with using a meter.

I have the door and front apart and have a circuit tester, not a meter. Do I need to open the black box that, I guess, contains the controls?

Yes, we can at least know if the power is getting to the control.

There are so many circuits. Can be specific as which ones should be hot. I turned the wall switch on and touched several pairs inside the box and no indicator light.

Test the black wire that comes from the door switch to the control board. If no power there, test it at the door switch. Are you getting power at the door switch wires?
