First the ice quit dispensing, I think I have figured out the problem to that as the drive shaft for the auger looks stripped. I am going to order that part. But now the ice maker quit making ice. The front water dispenser is working and from what I can tell the water supply to the ice maker isn't clogged. When I push in the lever on the left for the infrared the red light is solid and when I let it out the red light blinks twice. What should I check next? Thanks

Hi. To check if this is the icemaker or the water valve switch around the solenoid plugs at the water valve and push the water dispenser lever. If the icemaker starts filling up - then it's a bad icemaker. The water valve Part number: W10408179

Have you looked at the water valve? There are 2 solenoids with the disconnect plugs. Switch this plugs around. The water lever is what you press to start the water in the dispenser.

Should I be concerned with the infrared light? Should it be blinking, staying on??
Thanks

Ok Simon, I did switch the leads on the water valve and when I push the water lever the ice maker does fill up. So is there anything else I need to check? Or is it 100% the icemaker before I go ahead and order an icemaker?

Hi.
Sorry couldn't get back earlier. You should go ahead and replace the icemaker.
Post the results.
Simon.
