Hello Gene,

thanks so much for your help. If I understand correctly, I will need to check/replace all of the crimped wires which attach to the water valve which looks like:
http://www.appliancepartspros.c...TFBXL3NvdG9ocHRyYXAv.jpg

and it is located as #2 here:
Cabinet - rear (washer) replacement parts for Maytag MHW2000AWW STACKED WASHER | AppliancePartsPros.com

Also, can you tell me where #2 is located on the back of the machine? From what I can see it Item # 2 connects to item #5 which I believe attaches to the upper right of item # 1

Thanks again!

Before you'll start to disassemble it, describe how did it stop please. Did it stop at the same point or it was different every time? How did it fill up with cold water?

My tenant told me it always stops leaving her clothes wet and soapy. I'm going to assume that means it stops in the same location each time. The work around my previous tenant use was to turn the dial around and back to where it left off and restart the machine.

It is very important to find out if it fills up with cold water.

Should I tell them to run a load with cold/cold and see if any water comes out? Or is there a better way to do that?

Open the control panel. Remove the control board and visually inspect for any burned (discolored) resistors. Post the results. Post the serial number if the washer.
