1/ Rear removal:

Shut off the water to the inlet hoses and remove the hoses from the water valve connections of the washer.
Remove the two ¼" hex head screws securing the water valve bracket to the cabinet.
While pulling the lower end of the bracket down slightly, slide the bracket to the left. This will allow the injector hose to clear the rear cabinet opening.
While pulling the bracket away from the cabinet, rotate the left side of the bracket away from the washer.

2/ Front removal:

Remove the front panel.
Remove dispenser bezel and raise the top cover to expose the upper rear cabinet area.

I would prefer the rear removal.

Gene is right, the rear is probably the easiest. I chose the front/top since I had it open aleady. You will probalby notice that the dispenser bezel/cover is cracked or cracks when you take it off. If you are comfortable with that, you have easy access to the wiring from the top.

I'm not sure if this thread is still active, but I have the same problem with my washer. I wanted to view the service bulletin, but the link is not working for me. Does anyone have a link to the service bulletin? (and/or have a "how to" on how to fix this issue)

THANKS!

Thanks Gene! I have the type of washer with the dryer on top (both front load). I know how to open up the front panels (as i've replaced the wax motor before). However, I'm not sure where the water solenoid is and what it looks like. Any advice (or pics?) thanks!

I'm not sure on the model (its at a rental property).
I know it's over 10 years old. Would attaching a picture of the unit help?

If not can fun the model number on the front of the unit?
Where it's currently located I can only see the front of it and it's tough to move....

The Model Number Locator should help you. Usually the name plate is located on the door frame.

Unfortunately you can access the water inlet valve from the back of the washer only. That means you have to pull the unit out of the wall.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Maytag MHW2000AWW STACKED WASHER | AppliancePartsPros.com
