Refrigerator has been sitting idle for a few years. Plugged it in and the compressor won't shut off. Need help please!! Thank You

After the fridge being on for 5 hours, the freezer is -10 and the fridge is 50*. It does shut off for the defrost mode. The fan in the freezer does not seem too work????????????Thanks

Locate the motor in the freezer and try spinning the blade by hand... It may just be a little rusty from sitting idle... Otherwise a new motor can be obtained from APPros but you'll need the complete model number to identify the replacement...

Thanks, ordering new motor. The compressor runs fairly loud, is this normal for this model. et20nkxxn01???

It's unpredictable. It could run with an excessive noise for a years or it could die pretty soon.

take and amperage draw on the compressor to see how hard it,s working ,if it,s 10% or more then what,s on the compressor plate or sticker I would SCRAP it.
