A couple days ago my refrigerator froze everything in the fresh food side. The temperatures on the front display read as they are set:
refrigerator: 2c and freezer: -14c. Although the refrigerator reads 2c on the display, I put a thermometer in there, and its actually -15c.
The compressor is constantly running and wont shut off. I've pulled the temperature sensors out from behind the back of the fridge and freezer and they both test correctly...
With the temp sensors reading/working correctly, would it be the control board?
The fridge is about 6 years old The coils are clean Temp sensors test correctly The self diagnosis doesn't report any issues.
Model Number: Samsung RB213KASW
Any ideas on what I can test/check

Part of the problem solved.
Turns out the fridge thermistor was bad. Replaced it, and it now (Initially reads correctly) When the fridge first gets plugged in, the temperature reads correctly, but as time goes on, it slowly shifts towards the setpoint temp, even though its still getting colder inside the fridge. - Currently -12c actual temp, 2c display temp.
The compressor still wont shut off no matter what the temp of the fridge/freezer is.

okay, so the digital display is not correctly following the temperatures inside both the fridge and freezer.
The thermometer I have in the fridge reads -10c but the digital display reads 2c.
I warmed up the thermistor with my fingers, but the temperature never changed. I unplugged the fridge, and plugged it back in and the digital display read 9c (as it was still warm from my fingers)
Within a few minutes(10-12 minutes) the temps where back to 2c while the thermometer in the fridge read -8.
Why wont the fridge read the correct temperature after a few minutes?

Well, it seems that the sensor AND thermistor where bad. Even though the temp sensor tests good, the fridge wouldn't work until BOTH the thermistor AND temp sensor where changed...
Its been 3 days now, and everything is running as it should. Although I must admit the the temp calibration is off by about 2 degrees now. the temp is set for 2 degrees, and actual is 4.
Well, I'm out of here for now. Hopefully this will help someone else trying to trouble shoot their fridge.
Thanks for nothing... LOL :p ;)
