Hello,

I just replaced the wax motor and uppercontrol board in the washer, which seems to have solved the draining issue, but on some cycles the door doesn't lock and the door lock light doesn't come on. When this happens it won't go into high spin. We've had some luck with stopping the machine and firmly resutting the door (sometimes pulling up, but it it still seems out of alignment.

Any suggestions ?

Also, we're wondering about the door lock cable - a solid plastic cable that goes from the door latch assemble to a corner of the liquid dispensor. This cable doesn't carry current or fluid. Is it critical somehow to the machine's operation, or just a trick to let the service man know you've been in there?

My email is cuillo@comcast.net

Thanks in advance
Chris

The cable is just there so you can pull on it to release the lock and open the door if it fails. I would guess your other problem maybe cause by the replacement wax motor not being installed correctly.

On the door lock cable: I never would have figured that out.

I'll check the wax motor install. Pretty sure I got it right, but I'll make sure. The hinges on the door may have gotten a little sprung, but I'll make sure the door closes correctly.

Thanks again,
Chris

That cable is what is used to open the door if the door lock fails.

I would check out the door lock mechanism and the wiring.
