My oven worked Christmas Eve and not on Christmas Day!!! The Time, convection fan, and controls all work, but no warmth from any settings. The digital readout says Pre-Bake 170 and nothing gets warm. Do I need a new control panel or relay panel or both?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for AOCS3040SS models | AppliancePartsPros.comI am assuming that everything looks normal just no heat. Try the following first. The control, fan, etc. use half the line (120 volts) but the elements require the full 240 volts. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Do this with the heater off and on. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! Many units have a thermal cut-off (fuse) in line with the elements. The parts do show a limit kit (Item 38 in Section 2) but I do not have a wiring diagram so am not sure what this part is doing. If it has a fuse often they blow after a long self clean cycle. Other causes are a bad oven sensor or a sticking relay on the control board or sometimes they just blow for no apparent reason. I will do some more searching to see if I can find a wiring diagram. |
