I have a kenmore side-by-side fridge/freezer and the ice maker doesn't work. I saw somewhere on the web to check test point L to N for 120 vac. There is no voltage at these test points or at the plug coming into the freezer compartment. Am I checking the correct test points? If so does anyone know what I can check next?

I found that I get voltage at the ice maker when the freezer door switch is closed. I unplugged the ice maker, filled the mold with water and after it cycled it got about 12VAC at the water valve solenoid. Is this the correct voltage? I noticed about 120 VAC at the water solenoid for the water spout in the door. If 12VAC is correct I'll assume that the water valve assy is bad if not what else can I check?
