I have a Sub Zero refrigerator model 550 and I have no power to the Icemaker. The freezer is turned on. Old icemaker was not working and the coil on selinoid valve was open. I replaced the valve and the icemaker assembly and it did not work. I checked power & there is nothing. What dod I do now?

I assume this is a bottom freezer model. Two styles of door switched have been used on Sub Zero products over the years. Older models may use a square or rectangular switch while most newer models use a round, button type switch. There will usually be a separate switch for the light and another one that operates the icemaker. Find the one that operates the light, the other one is for the icemaker. Make sure it is pushed in when you are checking for voltage or you wont find any voltage to the icemaker.

Thanks for your reply. The switch you refer to is working properly. I have found the problem. In the power wire from the subject switch to icemaker is a heat fuseable link which is open. My problem now is I cannot find out what the size of this item is or where to get it.One blog I read says to replace the whole wiring harness which does not seem feasable even if I could find it. I am not sure what the link even does. Is it to prevent the heater from overheating? I just don't want to eliminate it. If I can find a new link I would just splice it in place of the old one. Any suggestions?
