Hi gm589

In order to provide the most accurate advise I need the complete model number of your washer. Instead of the model number you posted a serial number.

Hi gm589

If your washer does agitate but does not drain and spin then most likely the problem is a bad lid switch.

If does not agitate and spin but does drain then the problem is a bad motor drive coupling.

If does agitate and drain but does not spin at all then it could be a bad drive block, a bad clutch or a bad transmission (the transmission should be under the limited manufacturer warranty).

To tell you more specific what is wrong with your washer I need more information.

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Roper washer Model RAS7133KQ0

The machine does aggitate all the time and does drain all of the time. To get it to spin I have to turn the drum back and fourth like it was aggitating and then when I put the lid down it will spin.

The first thing I would check in such situation is the drive block.
Remove the agitator and the spanner nut. Visually inspect the drive block. If it has to be replaced you will have to remove the cabinet and the inner tub.

In order to remove the spanner nut you will need a special spanner wrench.

- The part number for the drive block AP2905773

Gene, thanks for the info, I also have a Roper washer, and when I look under the lid on mine, I see toward the top - SM 8280871. I am also having these same issues, washer agitates & drains well, but does not spin. Do you have the break down diagrams for my model number ?? Thanks!

Hi Ryan,

The number you posted is the serial number. The model number should be on the same name plate.

Try to open and close the lid while it's draining. If it will start to spin then the problem is a bad timer.

Hey there Gene, thanks for the response......

I did try and opened the lid while the washer was draining, and then closed the lid. But the washer just continued with it's cycle, and tried to spin, making a grinding noise as if it was trying to spin. It is not an extremely loud grinding, but I can tell it is definitely trying to spin it seems. Would I check the drive block next ?? Please advise......

Also, I did find the part number under the lid as well -

Roper - RAX7245KQ0
Type - 107

Thanks!
