Dryer has a foul odor when on the heat (not air fluff) cycle. Cleaned the lin trap & vent but still a very strong odor inside the dryer and outside ventillation

That will be hard for use to tell you where it is coming from, what sort of smell, dead animal?? Karosene smell? If like a Karosene smell have you used any chemicals in the house like painting or floor products, this would cause a bad smell it was used...when the fumes hit the element or flame when the dryer was running...

Pull the heating element and check for dead rodent. If one there it will cause dryer overheating and blow out either the element or thermal fuse.
