The agitator barely moves. With a slight bit of hand preasure on the top of it, I can feel it trying to move.
How can I repair this?

The washing machine works fine as far as the cycles, ie., spin, drain and etc. The agitator simply doesn't agitate the way it used to. In an older washing machine I used to have, there were these plastic gear-like parts that I had to replace to correct a similar problem.

They are called agitator dogs part # 80040. which might be part of the problem, but if bottom isn't workign right may need to look at the grooves in the bottom of the agitator.

Upon further inspection, the bottom section of the agitator works great. It is the upper section that does not. Earlier I stated that it didn't. Yes, the bottom of the agitator moves.

Then you are going to need those agitator dogs 80040. Do you wash a lot of heavy stuff? If so you may want to lighten the loads.
