Washer display will power on but machine will not do anything . I spoke with a repair guy and he thinks a valve is stuck or could this be something different.

With this machine it could be anything, but I doubt if it is a stuck valve.
Under the top is a tech sheet that should allow you to put it into a diagnostic mode and an automatic test mode which should generate error codes and help you figure it out.
