Hello,
Thanks a lot for your help on this
I have a Maytag elec. dryer model MED5740TQ. the timer will not advance in any cycle timed/auto dry.
I read that I need to change the time and some where else I read I need to change the control board.
Any help which one should I replace
Thanks so much.......that will make score a home run with the wife:)

As a technician I would check to see if I have 120 volts to the timer motor with my volt meter. If I did (chances are that you do) then I would replace the timer.
If I did have voltage to the timer then I would trace it back to were I did have power to find the problem.
Chances are you will need to replace the timer.
