Hey guys,
My dryer won't advance in the 2 auto modes but it will in the timed mode. So I bought a new timer and that didn't fix it. I read somewhere that it might be the heating element b/c it's taking longer to dry the clothes. The dryer is hitting 130deg on the back metal part in the drum with no clothes in there.
So i took it all apart and one of the heating coils is broke.
Do you think this will for sure fix it? I need to know weather I should spend another $200 on this dryer on buy a new one.
BTW I have a timer for sale if you need one:)

Here are your parts Replacement parts for General Electric DBXR463EB0WW Electric dryer | AppliancePartsPros.comOdds are high that it will fix your problem. When in an auto mode the timer motor gets power through one of the heating coils when the thermostat shuts it off. The resistor (Item 80 in Section 1) drops the 240 volts down to 120 volts for the timer motor. I would also check the following as you might as wee do an overhaul when you have it opened up. Also the parts may add up and be more than you want to spend on the unit. Check and replace if necessary: the rear support bearing, the belt, the motor bearings, the idler wheel, the front support glides, the drum seals and any other interior seals. Give the interior a good cleaning , including the blower wheel. Also a good time to check/clean your vent system. |
